HUDSON RIVER FLOAT TRIPS

Our fishing trips begin in North River at the railroad tracks and we float five miles to the town of North Creek. From North Creek we float an additional five miles to the bridge at Riparius.

Browns, Rainbows and Smallmouths are the fish we'll target. The distance is about ten miles and takes about eight hours. A full lunch is provided, with bottled water. Feel free to bring your own snacks. Fishing gear is provided, if you have your own please bring it. Boots, waders and clothing are not provided. Dress for the weather.

<----YOUR TRUSTY GUIDE ON THE SCHROON RIVER

The Hudson Gorge and the section of the Hudson from North River to North Creek is annually stocked with over ten thousand Trout. The fishing can be outstanding. Also from North Creek to Riparius, Smallmouths rule with 17" plus common. If and when you do catch a Trout below North Creek, it could be a HOG.! There is very little fishing pressure on this float.

SCHROON RIVER FLOAT TRIPS

Trips begin at the Shcroon Lake/River state Boat launch. We float three and a half miles to Starbuckville Dam. From the dam we'll float the six to seven miles to Riverbank.

There are several points along the river that we will have to take the raft out and walk it around, Starbuckville dam, and around two chutes. This will take about five minutes, it's a good time to stretch and you can also fish these holes as well

Pike, Small and Largemouths are the target fish from the boat launch to Starbuckville dam. From the dam to Riverbank, we'll fish Brookies, Browns, and Rainbows. This section of the river is heavily stocked. About 22,000 Trout in all.

Again, lunch,water and gear is provided. Bring your own boots, waders and clothing. Dress for the weather.

THIRTEENTH LAKE EVENING FLOATS

This float has the chance to get crazy. Thirteenth lake has been rated as one of the three top lakes in the East for Hex hatches (giant-Mayfly). The hatch usually happens from mid-June through July in the evenings. With fish rising from 5pm-through an hour after dark.

We basically sight cast to the rising trout, that's usually when it can get crazy. Our target fish is Brookies, Browns,Rainbows, and Land locked Salmon.

Thirteenth lake is a beautiful body of water. It sits at two thousand feet in elevation. It can also be cool in the evenings so bring a fleece pull over. Each year I'm thrilled to share my space with the pair and sometimes two pair of Loons. You'll truly feel the North Country when you hear them call. Oh, and you have the chance to catch a ten pound plus Brown, with five plus caught every year.

ALLIGATOR POND EVENING BASS FLOATS

Fellow fishermen this float is crazy. Alligator pond is one of the best Bass ponds that I have fished any where. The pond looks as if it came out of the Bayous of down south. Stumps,dead fall trees, sunken Islands and under cut banks makes this a truly fun pond to fish. The bass are not the biggest but you catch them one after another. Also Bluegill,and Crappie are there in numbers. You may also see the pair of Osprey's that nest every year on the pond. This pond is made to Fly Fish in the evenings with Damsel's and Hoppers. Alligator pond is perfect for the young ones who just want's to catch FISH!! The Evenings from 5pm till dark are the prime times to fish the pond. The surface is usually calm and makes for great top water action.

Also if you forget to bring Waders,Boots, ec we can help you out. Maybe you want rent gear for a few day's, no problem we can set you up here at the Fly Shop.
